PLEASE STOP SCROLLING! YOU NEED TO STOP AND READ THIS.
You’ve been seeing all this “STOP KONY 2012” or “MAKE HIM FAMOUS” or “INVISIBLE CHILDREN” on your dash, but you might not understand any of it. So here’s the story.
Joseph Kony is a menace to society. For over 26 years now, he has been kidnapping and abducting children in Uganda and other parts of Africa and forcing them to become child soldiers and sex slaves. He abducts children from their homes, and rips their lives apart. Parents are murdered at the hands of their unwilling, scared children. And we didn’t know about any of this. Until now.
Luckily, President Barack Obama saw some worth to this cause, and deployed troops to help aid Uganda. But since then, Kony has changed his tactics has become harder to find. And if we don’t find him this year, the US Government will pull the troops out of Africa. WE MUST SPREAD THIS.
Official Information:
KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice. Watch the video HERE.
Since 1987, Joseph Kony has taken more than 30,000 children in Central Africa and forced them to be child soldiers in his Lord’s Resistance Army. The KONY 2012 campaign employs film, social media, street art, and face-to-face interaction to make the case that the arrest of Joseph Kony this year is one thing we can all agree on.
100% of the money that is donated to Invisible Children’s Kony 2012 campaign goes to the area of greatest need including our protection and rehabilitation work in Central Africa and spreading awareness about the conflict around the world. See Invisible Children’s Protection Plan for more details about ongoing projects like the Early Warning Radio Network and the Rehabilitation Center—the first one in the region for victims of the LRA. Invisible Children gains no profit and all donations are tax deductible. You will receive a confirmation email when you submit payment.
Visit the website here for more information on the project, donations, and how you can help, because people in the world need our help.
